Month Of Heroes Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Month Of Heroes

Month of heroes (and heroines)

Ranganayi Jonathan,
our father more than,
words could express.
Taken away 3 August 1979,
on the heavenly express.
I remember "Space 1999",
we watched on our black and white TV,
not knowing you will fly away,
to space to join our gods.
You have a great Liberation War CV,
but they did not understand you.
This is nothing new.
Even after so many years,
they still ignore native tears

Lion of Chivi our home,
you are not alone.
Fungayi is there with you,
left us 3 days after you,
2008 in the month of heroes.
Rest in peace blood relations,
taken awayfrom us.
In the month of heroes.
