Monkey Mind Poem by Philo Yan

Monkey Mind

Our monkey mind will
yada, yada, jibber jabber
a constant state of chatter
It winds us up like a toy until
it deafens, cracks or shatter
It cuts any rest or peace
It has an axe to grind
It chops and slashes you up
inch by inch and
piece by piece....

Well, this is what that matters
To make your monkey weak
To stop its madcap chatters
or hear it scream or squeak
This is what you need to know
You simply breathe and breathe in deep
You simply breathe and breathe out slow
Remember, always take it slow...
