Momma Said Poem by Alfred Ramos

Momma Said

Cool head
Went to bed
Hot chance
To romance
Simply gone dead
Who could say
She’d hide away
No revenge
To avenge
On this very trying day
Too bad
The kid’s been had
Midnight
Brings no light
It’s just too sad
I can’t laugh
Life torn in half
Every dream
A secret scheme
An invisible photograph
Every plan
Burns my hand
Desire
And fire
I don’t really understand
Agony
And ecstasy
Torch bearing tricks
Just don’t mix
Wounds I just can’t fix
Heart pains
Create love stains
Warms tears
Create warm beers
Cause twice the rains
Momma said
Look inside your head
Every sound
Ain’t no merry-go-round
It will get you drunk instead
