MODEL MEMENTO:

Stolen from an artist's model
Her box of memento and jewels
Of the Lady's brief life
Yvonnes? An upper and lower
Case of password of very strong
And so very secure foreplay
Tokens for tolls at rails loss
By the side of heavy traveled
Roads - drawn to
Life's crime to stalk to break-in
To solitary inclination
The truth of trust burglarized
Would pay in time served
With life's incarceration to
Take the fall for others ordained
To give false prophecies to
Worship with blood and psalm
Sung in the velvet 'Imagination'
Of Purple Rain and Prince,
Jessie Belvin to the silky 'Be
Good' admonition of Gregory
Porter -and the 'Unforgettable'
Mona Lisa smile in Nat King
Cole - sacrifice for promises and
Dedications made one to another

Appended to the room
Reducing space to recline in
Nubian dressing gown uncovering
Desirable sculptured resort -
Happened into life's space
Reducing it to preparedstudio
For works that want
Not any good thing
But models placed in recline
Draped Nubian dressing gown
Uncovers truth of sculptures
Shaped to Nefertiti once found
And shopped from a department store
Warehouse sale - hung from her body
As a tent blown over
Sculptured daughters of Nefertiti
To hang onto carpeted floor
Drapes to shape presentation -
The very soul would show
Beneath erotic veils of blue
Velvet and jewel of murmurs
From heart spoken to knowing when
First met would be like this
Salutary lover bound to attention
To every breath and murmur of heart
Made at depths of invisible cool
In silence of languages unspoken
Though love would make more
Sentimental reasons kept inside… if
Made only for the moment given
Behind breast lifted up and in
The spirit inhaled to smother
Every word of flesh rolled to command
Desires more than minds could imagine
From under the time allowed
Silence incensed the pleasures' haze
The queen of them all the host
At the supper and ball the mother
Companion better loved than them all
Silent maid becomes queen and
She serves this parole.
