Mister Grandpaw Poem by Dorsey Baker

Mister Grandpaw

Sight is slowly
Fading from the old man's eyes
His legs move stiff and slow
And his arms
They cannot move as much
Heavy weight as they once did
He's too old for the army
But not quite old enough for
Social security
All the beautiful young women
They now call him grandpaw
His hair is white
His skin is wrinkled
He is just too old to hide the age
Young folks are just too smart
And an old man would be foolish
If he thought
That they were not!
