Mistaken 'she' Poem by Fasika Ayalew

Mistaken 'she'

From his side she was taken
Blood and flesh after breathed in
There she was
A being

She was taken among his ribs from one bone
Not from his feet to be stepped on

She was taken from one bone under his arm
To protect her and not to harm

She was taken near from his heart to be loved
Not from the head to be above

From his side she was taken from one rib
Side to side, being equal thus both can live.

And here she is
A becoming
Stepped on
Abused
Mistakenly perceived
Mistaken “She”

I think these are noble thoughts, and they're pretty well put. (Or was he taken from HER side, maybe? Or maybe 'they' were hermaphroditic siamese twins, separated later and, as you suggest, completely equal?) You got me thinking.
