Miss Starks In The Tempest Poem by Kyle Jones

Miss Starks In The Tempest

Rating: 5.0

I know it’s perilous here and I wonder if you’re scared too,
But things like fear our hearts can forever elude,
You know I stayed here, because I needed your sweet voice,
And for you to just hold me near would always be my choice,
I’ll love you forever and you’re all I have today,
And with this weather who knows where we’ll be?
For you I would always take the stinging black and blue,
And I would risk anything to bring me closer to you,
You ask aloud if I wished to be in another place
With my crowd, to my own shelter gone with haste,
Though many would have safety be their wish,
I can honestly say that my answer is this,
My house lies miles away, and would I be alone?
For in your arms I sway, and it’s never felt more like home,
Though you raise your fist you raise also my heart,
And since it’s mine to give, I vow never to part,
The sky’s so dark and wet here and as loud as it is violent
As if our sovereign above, was some warlord or tyrant
But this might and ferocity here on our heads
Could unclench our bodies and leave us both dead
I’m happy here and will not weep
For my love would always be yours to keep
Even If our eyes were to part evermore
It’s towards him our eyes were watching before
