Mine Came Back! Poem by Ayokunle Adeleye

Maybe I wasn't being proud after all
When I asserted that back she'd come
(Her departure was as sweet as gall;
As devastating as a bomb)

But what shall I tell?
That she came to say I was stupid?
That her time with Stupid Stalker was swell
But she claimed nothing concerned Cupid?

Neither do I believe in mythology-
That Zeus is the reason I failed-
For were I good in BCh AND Physiology
My love for her would have prevailed

For she came back not seeking a friend
Only a BCh tutor
But I knew how things would end:
Not far from now will be a milked suitor

And since going for the ride
Would be riding for a fall
Rather than ride the punch I stood aside
My time has come the shots to call!

Well, she now has scars but I still like her;
My feelings she still will not consider;
Pastoral replacement is no longer
But I hear Physiology tutor is now Onga...
