Mind Reader Poem by Wade Bouton

Mind Reader

Rating: 3.8

Imagine having no secrets withheld
Always listening, but your thoughts quelled

Seeing their most intimate thought
What hath God wrought

Looking into their artificial eyes
Always wearing a vale of disguise

Never revealing their reality
Wanting to live a life of duality

Hearing what people actually think
Would surely force you to the brink

How can people live this way
Having to hide their feelings everyday

The voices are constant and unceasing
My grip on reality is decreasing

Will I ever be alone with just myself and I
Or forever live with their thoughts and not reply

Insanity will be the result I fear
The only solution begins to appear

Only way to silence the voices in my head
This last line to remain unsaid.
