Midas Poem by Samantha Pearson

Midas

Here atop my throne of eyes
Do I ponder the taste of lyes

And here alone in tongueless abode
Does thought wander 'bout the value of gold

For I have learned the weight of want
'Round my mind does glitter taunt

And I have seen the cost of shine
Shallow desire
Oh bitter the brine!
