Mheshimiwa Poem by Kariuki Samuel Mutiga

Mheshimiwa

Mheshimiwa; Speak up
Mwanainchi; Speak up
; Seven years down the line
; Slimmer waistlines
Mheshimiwa; So many changes we've seen.
Mwanainchi; -I think short changed we've been
; ..your protruding bellies
Mheshimiwa; -Thats malice
Mwanainchi; Layers at the back of your neck
Mheshimiwa; But am always at your call and beck
Mwanainchi; Bigger salaries
Mheshimiwa; Mmmm..i hope it doesnt translate to more calories
Mwanainchi; More talk- more yapping
Mheshimiwa; (Looking a bit anxious) More than a puppy?
Mwanainchi: Impoverished living
Mheshimiwa; Harambee..misaada, am always giving
Mwanainchi; Good for you
Mheshimiwa; good for you too
(long pause)
Mheshimiwa; Blah blah blah
; More than me, you will never get wiser
Mwanainchi; Bigger better brains
; wisdom brought about by pain
(long pause)
All ; Good for us all
