It is more the matter of timing
between metrics and ratings
slotted social compatibilities
target pairings with
relative geometric tuning

a stark clinical game of content capital
dressed for market share
subliminal demographic baiting

we all have our own unique offerings
for segments, charms for channels
meticulously crafted meters for networks
attuned to that sole coveted
monogamous audience devoted

the competition diverse as perverse
enamouring clamouring cosey signalling
viewership response if only approximating

we the broadcasters
personal professional social networks
profile pics to fit status
channelling private pirate

at times for the commercial interstitial
nestled anchoring prime time programming
at others but a PSA to fill dead air
between the primary buyers

financiers for carriers
bread and butter sustenance fillers
deepest personal matters
