Mendigo Poem by Juan dicent

Mendigo

Rating: 5.0

There's a man on the corner
Long filthy hair and nails

He looks at the sky
He looks at the street
He smiles

He sees me inside my brand new car
Four screams and a gargoyle by my side

He looks at the sky
He looks at the traffic jam
He smiles

My kids are excited because it's Friday
My wife keeps talking about supermarkets

He looks at the sky
He looks into my eyes
and dragging his feet he walks away

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

You know, my mom used to call my dad 'mendigo' all the time....this poem helps me to understand why....
