Maybe, Just Maybe Poem by Christal Carpenter

Maybe, Just Maybe

Rating: 0.5

Father and mother, I don't understand
How could you have me
If you could not love me
Just leave me to die
Just leave me to cry
For help in this world unforgiving

Why did you have me
If you could not love me
I stand all alone under the willows
Scream at my dreams in to my pillows
You tell me don't cry, I have no need
To scream I can't stand it
So hear my plead

Why did you have me
If you could not love me
I stand there and cry
As my heart turns to stone
I could not please you
And I am so sorry
Maybe tomorrow your hate will be gone

Why did you have me
If you could not love me
Stand all alone
In this world of despair
Sinking, Oh, sinking ever so slowly
Never to love it's just not fair

Why did you have me
If you could not love me
Drowning in tears on the day of tomorrow
As you appear in for ever and always
Get out won't you please just go

Why did you have me
If you could not love me
Knife in my heart as the tears pour down
Mixes with blood spilled on the ground
This is the reason that you'll never love me
How could you love me I'm 6 feet down

Why did you have me
If you could not love me
Slowly so slowly I wake from my slumber
Tears on my pillows I let out a sigh
Maybe tomorrow just maybe I'll die

But just for now I'll sit at my table
And write out my heart for all to hear
Then maybe then I'll have nothing to think of
then maybe then I'll have nothing to fear

But just for now I'll write at my table
Then maybe then I'll have nothing to fear
