Mating Season Poem by Andrew Dabar

Mating Season

Passing by
She catches his eye
But soon it will be everything else
A hair-trigger trap
Will come down with a snap
And secure him from everyone else

Once it is done
He's unable to run
A victim of love's ancient trick
She dangled the lure
Of which she was sure
Then simply pulled on a stick
