The Marlboro cigarette brand
in the 1920's began
As a woman's cigarette and
Not marketed to smoking man.
In the 1950's that changed
With the 'Marlboro Man' campaign.
Priorities were rearranged
To get the male market share gain.
The smoking, sexy cowboy got
The gals to help convince their men
To switch brands, sales went up a lot.
For decades it was an ad win.

The 'Marlboro Man' with his cigarette
Has now ridden off into the sunset.
