Marigold Poem by Tushar Ray

Marigold

The canopy invited me to enjoin
To its calming comfort underneath
Down its thick cool shelter
Almost thickened to semidarkness
Amid the desert glaring sun

And as I came down to rest
Over its crawling grassy bed
I saw a bunch of bright eyes ahead
Just signaling and staring at me
A gust of instant joy swamped my soul
Oh my... charming marigolds!

They flashed on to my sweaty face
Sending a spontaneous salute
With a flying transcendental kiss
To get my instant attention
And airing a concurrent vibration
As if in a gusty hiss
They said in a silent voice
Hey- - just relax, no rush please
Enjoy this afternoon bliss!

And soon I fell asleep
In that cool comfort of the canopy
- - - - - - -
