Marielle Poem by Courtney Gentry

Marielle

Midnight wake ups
MTVs on, listening to songs about breakups.
It relaxes me.
But still i'm anxious,
it makes everything feel so spaceous.
I can hear it coming but she will protect me,
even make me safe.
Like she locked my fears in a cage.
Almost trapped,
Feeling the feelings I once had.
Now at peace I lay my head.
I can finally sleep,
without hearing or seeing a thing.
