Manifesto Poem by Whitney Jones Olson

Manifesto

Words - are a
tumbledown romance
a fantastic interlocking, and
an aesthetic.
En vogue expression - is
no more beautiful
my words are animal - they strive
to be natural.
Flow - is the
Modernist curves
the form of the letters, may be
lost here in binary translation.
Understanding - is not the
point of this.
Art is a repose; an experience,
not a lecture.
You - want to be handed
my answers
want me to shine my light
as you walk.
We think - it is all
about me
and yet we look to others
who don't matter to us.
I - am just a writer
it is not a choice
I am not composing a gift
for you.
