Manifesto Poem by Mark Nichols

Manifesto

I have been born again
Into the world of understanding
That what is new
Has existed since the first crustaceans
And enzymes whose life-beam dignified
Contact with its 'self'

I am manifesting that
I am equal to every animal
Every carrot stick and rock
Every story
Including the story of Jesus
Muhammad
Buddha
or the Big Bang
They are all equally beautiful
And not one has to be 'true'
To be important in my life

I can be changed
There is no 'word' that should be exclusive
Or threatened by any other word
I appreciate choice
Freedom of choice must be the most sacred thing
Through real choice can entities
Such as you me or it
Discover what is 'real'
Or essential
We play to discover
We play to manifest

I am born again
Knowing that there is spirit in everything
That cooperation is happening everywhere
That cognition is the all and the none
That we are all a part of an infinite number
Of things
Of universes
Of corporations
Of bodies
Of lives
Of cycles
Of songs

Any number of things
At any one time
Is smaller and bigger than 'we'

At any one point
I can be born again
As myself
