Man In The Corner Poem by Jonathan Poland

Man In The Corner

Do you ever see the man in the corner?
He’s just there but no one really knows who he is;
He attends your church, is in your science class;
He tried to talk to you the other day
But you blow him off;
Everyone knows hes there but yet he’s invisible;
He wants to talk to you but your too scared to loose social status;
Don’t worry he understands

He’s on the receiving end of all the mean jokes;
You always laugh at him so you can be more popular;
Ask him he probably dose not know what’s so funny
You give him dirty looks that tear him up every time
But you don’t even know it;
You judge him because you don’t know anything about his life
How could you know you never asked him;
He wants friends, you say “I’m too busy”.

He’s tired of being the “looser”,
But the man in the corner is there for you
Every time you are hurt
He’s there for you to rip apart;
He knows his role well he’s done it for years,
He wants a change, you said no;
You feel bad for him but you won’t do anything about it.
You hate him because he is not popular,
he wants you to see past the Crowd

You refuse to see he’s just like you.
He’s the man in the corner what will you do;
He’s always there asking for a second chance
But he already knows your answer “maybe next time”;
He knows next time will never come;
Its ok your next time is his eternity
