We have come to witness the night fall of a hero
we have come with raining eyes and wailing tongues
to placate the dusts on his final path to rest
and usher our Shaka warrior to eternal bliss

our hearts bleed as we bid thee farewell
in our minds you will forever be dear
and posterity celebrate your tenacity till Jesus return

man of steel, father of wisdom and endurance
you've freed the land from slavery and oppression
taught us the values of a true patriot
sprinkled your compassion on friend and foes alike
and sparked the minds that would change the world
your works are bold and priceless

we've dreamt this day to never
but now we must say adieu
its time to free yourself like the winds
and return home from which you came
your sail is set so go must you
for angels await with glorifying trumpets
and the heavens rejoices in cheerful applauds
to crown the accomplished son
