Luck Poem by Candice Renae Williams

Luck

Rating: 0.8

I hold my breath
Standing still
The shivering fear
Giving me a chill.

Into the skin
Soaking through
Pity to have the win
Yet, denied the due

I am waiting
For the way to clear
A path leading
Past a dream receding

Quiet, I whisper
My pounding heart
Wearing thin-not stronger
This luck bound to part.

Arms fling about,
The future is vast and real
Hit, chance, out
Three strikes now deal.

Made to be
Dying to exist
Life asks an unquestionable fee
Relaying the risk on a futile list.

I made a boundary
But could not break the wall
Seeing the image
As I plummet in the fall.
