Lucid Shadow Poem by Mary Lyle

Lucid Shadow

Lucid Shadow

Idle I sit with the desire for tangible lucidity
Daunting shadow of ripped coattails hidden behind a golden crown
Tranquility masked by a daunting mist
Void of imaginary uplift for letdown
Travel down dusty roads long since forgotten
Hope ignites for fragments of tracks lost in time
A trail stumbled upon, the fresh horizon my guide
Air is pure, visions anew, sensations breathtaking
Smell of truth, facades fallen
Smiles deprived of a care, perception (awareness) clear, present for all that the boundless beauty beholds
Taken in is all, deep breaths abound; eyes closed in the new calm
Worries forgotten, shortcomings forgiven, permitting the moment be in the minute
The despondency of reality fades
Eggshell trepidation subsides
An out-crying of sentiments released; remembrance dispelled
Fly far away black bird
Cast this shadow nevermore
Peace out.
