Lucid Dream Poem by Anashree Nash

Lucid Dream

Rating: 5.0

Fury and rage;
Unleashes the storm,
That has been building up;
Over a period of time.

The love deep within;
My heart, my laughter, my smile
Is a faded memory of;
The person I once knew.

Life got the better of me,
Hunted me down;
Like a lioness hunts her prey;
And let's it die a slow and miserable death.

So let down, so caught up;
In a maze of lies and deceit,
From the people I trusted;
The most in my life.

As I gasp my last breath;
And my life flashes,
Before me one last time;
I hear a voice call out my name.

From a distance my name;
Is echoed once more,
The voice grew louder;
As it drew closer to me.

'Get up I say, wake up
And greet the world,
Your story can only conclude
By none other than you! '

What on earth is this;
A riddle or a rhyme,
Who has this to say;
At this given time?

I open my eyes;
To the end of,
A lucid dream;
A dream, it's just a dream.

Even in a dream;
I will be the one,
To remind me;
Never to quit on myself!

For it is I whose intelligence;
Manifests from that of god,
And whose purpose;
I shall fulfill.

Man will make you his friend today;
And a mockery of you tomorrow,
But that's okay, for in the end;
It is only between you and god!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Life is like a Lucid dream. We have so much of knowledge and experience of the way our life should be paved but we get caught up in the maze of emotions that life throws at us. And we sometimes want to quit beacause there comes a point where we forget ourselves, until we realise at the end, its between you and god and your purpose in life. And we should not take life so seriously because life is a Lucid Dream.

Dreams are part of life. We have to dream. Nice work.
