Love Takes Flight Poem by Corina Vitale

Love Takes Flight

So why do they all fly away, leaving you with your bleeding wounds?
They all turn their head with indifference
All the ones that vowed their undying love to you, they have all gone
Leaving you to stand alone with your fading smile, they all go away
Their love begins to slide out of their hearts looking for something new
You are just a favorite toy of today, and all toys are forgotten, switched out, some day
Walk away girlie, don’t let it hurt
This is not new
Don’t stop going
Don’t stop to think
Let them walk away
You don’t really need them anyway
