Love Me With Your Eyes Poem by Practicing Poetess

Love Me With Your Eyes

Rating: 5.0

Love me all the time
Not just when the lights go down
We don't have to make a sound
Just love me with your eyes

Take me far from here
Where only we two can go
And no one but us will know
Beneath the moonlit skies

Make me feel alive
Just like only you can do
When you love me through and through
Like I'm a precious prize

In our private world
No one else exists but us
And you have my total trust
Reflected in your eyes

Thanks so much, Bec. I wrote this poem out of my imagination, long before I met the current man in my life. I'm not sure we have that eye connection thing down pat yet- - - But we're rapidly getting there!

Shakespeare said The eyes are the windows to your soul. I think they reveal feelings more than words can possibly do.

Shakespeare (or, Willy the Shake, as an instructor once called him!) was a wise old bard, was he not? That's why he'll always appear on top poet lists. As poets, though, we should concur that words come in at a pretty close second! Thank you for your sensitive and spot-on comments.
