Love, Let It Last Poem by ayam Rose Estelle

Love, Let It Last

Rating: 4.5

I just woke up today,
and I have something I need to say.
Something that's getting in my way.
Maybe if I tell you,
My thoughts will be at bay.
It's the emptiness in my heart,
Something that's been there since the very start.
That peaceful dove I once knew,
It flew the coop.
The darkness inside,
The days passing by.
I never saw it the way I do now,
There is something I that cannot allow.
Reach out to the ones you love,
Don't be shy, you won't need that glove.
Take it off- let someone love you,
Before they leave to bid you adieu.
Queen of Diamonds, they're too clever,
Things that you want, don't always last forever.
Queen of Hearts,
They're family, your friends,
The love that's pinned, that never ends.
I've had many reasonable options laid out in my past,
But I only want the things, that go out fast.
Now I'm left with Greed and Guilt,
As all my better options began to wilt.
Goodbye to my glove,
My special protection, I need to love.
Here comes my dove.
