Presenting masks wherever we go
Mere representations
That we give the world to see
However: hidden deep down within
and behind the eyes the ‘I' hides
Behind a mask that we expect others to recognize
All who play the game of Life
Are afraid to strip away the facade
And show our true nature known only to G*d
We have forgotten who we once were
Before we learned to speak lies and subterfuge
We stare at the dust of a glass mirror
As if that which is there is forever
After years of empty laughter
Turns to a dry sardonic grin
Will we remember
What still lay down deep within?
