Losing Myself Poem by Matthew Holloway

Losing Myself

I try each night
Sometimes in day also
To lose myself
To find either freedom
Or a numbness
To not feel or think
Alcohol helps me there
Perhaps it's the wrong kind of help
But it works for now
Losing myself for a while
Maybe one day I will lose
Myself permanently
We can only hope
Even when hope is lost
