Rating: 2.7

She left her heart
on the platform

never even heard it
snap.

It fell between
the THE & GAP

of
MIND THE GAP.

The train slowly
left it behind

she only missed it
when tucking her hair behind an ear

brushing tears
away

discovering
her heart

wasn’t there

only the broken
clasp

her fingers
frantically searching

against her heaving
chest

as if she
were going to faint

like a heroine
in a bad Victorian play.
