Looping Lemmings Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

Looping Lemmings

You will stamp out debate
in the name of destroying hate
With righteous indignation
You will form all social decisions

You will scream and 'shut it down'
While calling all others fascists
The circus has come to town
Riding on the backs of asses

To you diversity is a hierarchy
With some more equal than others
But I only need my two eyes to see
Just who are my sisters and brothers

So watch what you say in the street
Steer clear of their scrutinizing ways
Beware of the cretins you meet
Their eyes have that 'tolerant' glaze

I for one have no fear of debate
I can balance the old with the new
For the people that really do hate
Ideas begin and end there with you

.............................................................
You say you'll change the constitution
Well you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well you know
You better free your mind instead
