Forget the unkind words of others
forget the losses you have encountered
and the hardships of daily life
each time your heart has been broken
and those tears on lonely nights
there are still those new words to be heard
there are those still to make you feel
loved, accepted, wanted
even now there are those about you
you may not see nor realise
waiting, ready to take your hand
even in the darkest of our times
there is still a light shining
however dim or distant. It's there
and echoing from and through that light
a reminder of all you are
beautiful, brilliant, alive
forget each sorrow, dear friend
for there is always light
