If you can keep your spirits high
You can look the sun in the eye

You can stand strong against the storm
Above the clouds you can stand shining
You can stand strong under the rain
If you can keep yourself from whining

If you can shut away pessimism
You can spread your wings in the sky
Like a radiant rainbow from a prism
With the birds and butterflies you can fly

You can surf the stormy sea, and you will
You can span the scorching sand, and you will
You can move the lofty mountains, and you will
You can traverse the frozen terrain, and you will
All you need is an unflinching will,
An a little compromise, a little optimism
A little understanding is all it takes

Because if you can keep your spirits high
You can even look the sun in the eye
