Longing For My Old Country Vietnam Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Longing For My Old Country Vietnam

Rating: 5.0

The sky is beautiful this morning
I open the door and walk out of the house.
Outside, the new day just opens
White clouds float under the blue sky.

Clouds remind me of old hills and dales
My parents and grandparents' graves
Tân Thanh village where my older sister lives
And where her five children were raised.

Over there, it's now the season of Spring
Coffee fields are covered with green canopies
Sweet fragrance of white coffee blossoms fill the air
White clouds float under the blue sky.

That was the place where I once lived
During my childhood and adolescence years.
Now, looking at the sky above a foreign land
I suddenly long for my old country Vietnam.

Nhớ Về Quê Cũ ViệT Nam - Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Sáng nay, trời đẹp quá
Tôi mở cửa, ra ngoài
Ngoài kia, ngày mới mở
Trời xanh, mây trắng bay.

Mây nhắc về đồi lũng
Mộ cha mẹ, ông bà
Làng Tân-Thanh chị ở
Con chị, năm cháu trai.

Bên đó, mùa xuân mới
Vườn cà phê lá xanh
Bông cà phê thơm trắng
Trời xanh, mây trắng bay.

Ngày xưa, quê tôi đó
Tuổi thơ ấu, thanh xuân
Nhìn trời nơi đất lạ
Lòng bỗng nhớ Việtnam.
