Long-Awaited Fancy

Long-awaited Fancy

(a poem by Shakil Ahmed)

You are my long-awaited fancy
You are my promised Rainbow
Of invigorating and freshening blue sky
Where my love slithers and tumbles
In ineffable celestial rapture

When with silent and passionate fascinations
I stare at your glaucous eyes
I feel like a hovering bird
Flapping his tender pinions
Rushing rapidly to out-reach his roost.

When my heart bleeds in pain
Like the water of summer's fountain
After the end of appalling gale
In the midst of surrounding noise and clamours
You suck my pain with your violet powers.

When drizzle showers in the dead of night
When ominous owl hoots from height
You chill my unadorned blazing heart
With your green flame of love
You wet my shriveled and shrunken cheeks
With the elixir of your rosy lips.

When I scream or groan in pain
Tears tickle like summers rain
You wrap me with the feathers of your red wings
And we disappear in the skyline,
Where pulpy rays of sun only shine
Where transient mundane love transforms into divine.

Southern wind whispers tune of love
Drifting clouds dance like heavenly hoofers
Snowy mountain melts with fervent heat of love
A jubilant celebration crops up in Heaven above.
