Locked Poem by Ragy Sandid

Locked

Out of our prison walls
We watch
Who rises
Who falls

We ask a new question
We have the answer
But are locked up
In prisons of our anger

We know the material of hope
Sometimes we shape its clay
We dangle ourselves the rope
But refuse to climb down today

We see others as not us
We wish we had some of what they had
We know no struggle and no fuss
Made them good after they were bad

We watch from our island window
Not knowing others watch us too
Our islands are icebergs that sail away too
Into an ocean where all are inspecting the view
Perhaps waiting for a rescue crew
