Living In The Country Poem by keith brown

Living In The Country

Will you be here when the sun goes down?
Here at the break of day.
Will you be here when the stars come out?
If I ask you to stay.
Will you be my love, will you break my heart?
When the light comes streaming in.
Will you be here when the sun comes up,
as another day begins.

We're living in the country.
In the land of drought and flood.
We're living in the country,
In the land of dust and mud
Living in the country
gets down into your blood.

Will you walk with me along the ridge?
Where eagles dance and sway.
Stay with me till the rains have come, and
the north sky turns to grey.'

Small towns, outback roads, as
I walk that country mile.
Memories of yesterday
When I was a child

Will you be my love, will you break my heart?
When the rain comes streaming in.
Will you be here when the sun comes up, and
another day begins..
