Little Lullaby Poem by Marquita Lawson

Little Lullaby

Skip, little boy, skip be careful not to slip
Smile at your momma and dance in the sun
Toss rocks in the water and all that is fun
Skip, little boy, skip

Play, little boy, play happy all the day
Nuts and granola in pockets to munch
Picnic with peanut and jelly for lunch
Play, little boy, play

Run, little boy, run smile and laugh at the sun
Turn cartwheels and roll down that big, grassy hill
Watch butterflies dance, while you sit very still
Then run, little boy, run

Rest, little boy, rest it seems this time is the best
Holding you in the candle light
I love you and everything is all right
So rest, little boy, rest

Dream, little boy, dream of all that you’d like to be
Some day you’ll grow and as your dreams come true
Remember that I’ve always been so proud of you
So dream, little boy, dream
