Lily Poem by Teddy Wirunda

Lily

Morning opens the door
Of the darkened earth,
Darkened by yesterday's misteries.
Sweet rays slowly open my eyes,
Colourful birds beckon,
Whom am I not to respond.

Slowly I rise,
Arisen by paradise
And straight to the window
I head.
I am carried away by the fragrance
From the lily in the valley below.

My eyes want to taste,
Something beautiful
Something wow.
The lily, the lily
The beautiful, wonderful-

But, how?
Just how?
How?
How do I get it?
Tell me how!
Please tell me
So that it may be
all mine.
