I Like The Thought Of It Poem by William Jackson

I Like The Thought Of It

3 cherries with stems
and a ripe peach
alternately sweet and tart

the pits and stone
tossed out into the grass
for the Whitetail Deer to nibble

i never knew a girl who could tie a knot
in a cherry stem with her tongue
but i like the thought of it
