Like A Shooting Star Poem by Romeo Della Valle

A few words remain
For me to say:
"I think poetry",
"I dream poetry",
"I breathe poetry",
"I speak poetry"
And therefore,
"I write poetry"
When the world
Is my dear witness!

Here, I solidly stand,
Patiently waiting for the day
When the Sun and the Moon
Will sadly disappear
From my humble life!

My body will be buried
But my soul will survive
And like a shooting star
Hovering in the skies,
It will be trapped in infinity!

The poet will be gone
But not this finished poem
When I don't look forward
To be the only star
Shining in the whole sky!

Instead, I want to share
My humble words
With the rest of the world
While I am still alive!
