Lifeway Poem by Calico Jack

Lifeway

Rating: 5.0

With infinite pride I live out my life way,
despite what the puppeteers sneeringly say.
I roam with no path fully free of their strings.
Living for life, not material things.

I'll love forever with distaste in return.
Despite her rejection I fervently yearn.
She looks at me with unease in her eyes,
'cuz the heartache in mine I refuse to disguise.

To have someone to love fuels the joy in my soul.
With so much to live for my cup's always full.
As with all my endeavors, I will follow life through,
and I expect that my death will come right on my cue.
