Life Value Poem by Abdulmajeed Soladoye

Life Value

When the cord is cut and the placenta separates,
what do you cry for?
When your lid splits open and the light shines,
what do you see?
When your jaw cracks open and your tongue unroll,
what do you say?
When your body siezes activity and your mind wanders,
what do you dream of?
When your mood is down and you feel lonely,
who do you think of?
When you roll up your sleeve and look up in the sky,
what do you aim at?
When all hope is lost and no glimmer of light,
who do you call on?
When your knees are down and you look into your palms,
what do you pray for?
When the time had come and it was your last breath,
what will you wish for?
What do you want to make of your precious life?
