Lies... Poem by Shaun Cronick

Lies...

Rating: 5.0

You tell me more lies,
And I listen in kind.
Then you spin me a yarn,
With all truth half blind.

You construct a tall story,
Casually falsify every fact.
Never holding my gaze,
Avoiding any eye contact.

You are simply glass,
A non opaque deceiver.
Verity is a mere word,
You use as a lever.

So I'll keep you close,
Pretend I'm so captivated.
Suddenly turn the tables,
Against what's orchestrated.

The shock on your face,
Now your lies are revealed.
The only truth you've shown,
Knowing your fate is sealed.

Excellent poem Shaun..the person you refer to sounds a lot like Creepy Cummings! I really like the glass metaphor...works very well indeed. It's definitely a thoroughly fine five from me.

There isn't a better feeling than revealing to a liar you know their game- they go into a state of shock and embarrassment, with no idea how to lie themselves out of it.
