A prisoner in my own home
No freedom
No say
No chance to do it my own way
I need to spread my wings and fly
But need for you to step aside
For me to be independent and strong
I need for you not to hold on

I understand it’s hard to let go
But I’ll always be your little girl
That everybody knows
But it’s now that time
Let me try out my wings
See if your lessons keep me high
Keep me up in the clouds
And hope I make you proud
