Letter To A Witch Poem by Alexander Reda

Letter To A Witch

Hi Essy, how are you doing, long time no see,
it's been more than ten years now, do you still
want to kill me. You told me so much about yourself,
you thought it didn't matter how much you revealed
because you had planned to kill me from the begining.
If you are wondering how I managed to wriggle out
of your web, maybe I was helped by the spirits
of the people you have killed in the past, the
people whose faces you see when you try to rest,
the people you fear you will have to meet again
one day. Sometimes, in the early hours your demons
attack me, they cling to my back and whisper in my
ears trying to draw me closer to you, close enough
for another accident, I shake them off and they fly
out of the window, even they know how to head toward
the light. Oh Essy what have you become, I love you Essy.
