Let's Talk (Part 2) Poem by Cindy Christmas

Let's Talk (Part 2)

I Have Not Been A Parent For That Long, But I Am Learning Day By Day,
But I Want All You Parents To Listen Because I Have Something Important To Say.
I Want You All Parents To Sit Down And Talk To Your Kids,
Have A Serious Sex Conversation With Them And Tell Them Like It Is.
See, I Know That You All Are Embarrassed, And You Feel Like What They Don't  Know Won't Hurt Them, But That's Not Necessarily True. Some Of You All Parents Would Be Surprised To Know That Your Kids Know More About Sex Than You.
So Tell Them About Protection,
Lead Them In The Right Direction.
See, Even Though It's Discomforting And Embarrassing To Talk About Sex, You Would Not Want Them To Go Out There Experimenting And Then End Up Catching Something,
Even Though They Might Think That They Know Everything.
If You Are Not Talking To Them, They Really Don't Know Nothing. See, I Know That You Would Not Feel Good If Your Son Had An STD, Or If Your Daughter Got Pregnant At, Sixteen Or Seventeen Years Old,
Because You Know When You Have A Baby, It's Hard And Your Dreams Have To Be Put On Hold.
See, Kids These Days Are Having Sex At Age Seven And Eight,
So Talk To Your Kids Before It's Too Late.
