Let Me Walk The Woods Tonight Poem by R K Summers

Let Me Walk The Woods Tonight

Let me walk the woods tonight
In my dress of ghostly white
I know a field so near to me
Where gypsy horses canter free

And while the world is fast asleep
Through the bracken I shall creep
Until I find a love so dear
And will not stop for food nor fear

Though the moon is smiling grace
And shines her light upon my face
She worries not of friends or love
She remains a guide above

Thorns and brambles come not near
I refuse to shed one single tear
I will walk with grace and pride
Until I am my lovers bride

And if I walk the world tonight
In this gown of snowy white
A virgin wanderer I will be
Until I walk towards the sea
