Let Me Kill My Neighbour Poem by Quir Diing Jr.

Let Me Kill My Neighbour

I am denied
A lion’s position
At the work place
Though educated
Is not a big a deal
As I wait a little a while
To be the next interviewee.

Can you pay a fine?
First question
Before I reduce my height
Like the tortoise
How much? I asked
Say, four minimum
No, let’s talk of six
Or seven maximum
We converse like ancient Greek
Mathematics fellows.

Would you infect the young?
With this kind of ruling
Anyway,
Rolling stones gathers no moss
Looking for the job
Finance, I don’t have
How do I pay the fine?
Unless I kill my neighbour.

The disease spread
As fast as tuberculosis
And they give us not the medicine.
The government of the people
Belonging to the people
As it is cheered by the people
But,
Do we think of the underground politic?
At our homes
At work place
In schools?
No!
Think not.
Get job
After killing your neighbour,
Sign post talks of it
At the government’s parastatals.

So!
What do I do?
A source of finance I need
As the country run out in debt
But,
Who uses the foreign aid?
We don’t know
While our country enjoys starvation
So,
What do I need to do?
If it’s so, not a big a deal
I guess
Then,
Let me kill my neighbour
And enjoy my life
In a sea of dollars and pounds.
